Bar/Bar Meals

The Isle of Eigg Heritage Trust embarked on the redevelopment of An Laimhrig (The pier centre) at the beginning of 2021. An Laimhrig houses the toilets/showers, craft shop, grocery shop and Galmisdale Bay Cafe and Bar. Phase 1 has been completed which means we have a stand alone shower and toilet block with laundry and drying room. Phase 2 which started in September consists of a complete refurbishment of the present building along with an extension to this building. To enable the new building to be open for the start of the summer season 2022 we will be closing on September the 29th for the winter/early spring. This means there will not be cafe/bar facilities or a craft shop until the new building opens. The shop will continue to operate.

Our Bar Meals have proved incredibly popular since we started them a few years ago, with both locals and tourists alike, enjoying a wide selection of excellent, freshly prepared dishes. We provide bar meals on the nights we are open, between 6-8pm, and invite you to come and join us for an evening of delicious food and friendly company.

Wherever possible we use locally sourced produce in the kitchen and everything is made freshly on the premises. Booking in advance is advisable as we can get very busy, but if travelling in larger parties it is essential. If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know and we will do our very best to accommodate you.lection of excellent, freshly prepared dishes.

In these very strange times it is hard to gauge exactly what this summer will bring. Due to social distancing we are limited to four tables inside which is a maximum of sixteen people. Because of this and the fact that we are the only bar on the island, we will only be taking bookings for evening meals for two of our tables. We are quite happy to do takeaway and if the weather is permitting we do have outside seats as well. Booking in advance is a must so that we can ensure that we have enough for all.

Scotland’s licensing laws means we sell alcohol from 10am in the morning (except Sunday’s which is 12 noon) until closing. We are also licensed to sell carry outs until 10pm at night, for those camping or self-catered.

We carry a good selection of bottled and canned lagers, beers and ciders as well as a small selection of draught beer (only available from Spring to Autumn). All our spirits are sold in 35ml measures and our house wine in 175ml and 250ml measures. We also do a selection of bottled wine starting at around £14 a bottle.
