The Isle of Eigg Heritage Trust embarked on the redevelopment of An Laimhrig (The pier centre) at the beginning of 2021. An Laimhrig houses the toilets/showers, craft shop, grocery shop and Galmisdale Bay Cafe and Bar. Phase 1 has been completed which means we have a stand alone shower and toilet block with laundry and drying room. Phase 2 which started in September consists of a complete refurbishment of the present building along with an extension to this building. To enable the new building to be open for the start of the summer season 2022 we will be closing on September the 29th for the winter/early spring. This means there will not be cafe/bar facilities or a craft shop until the new building opens. The shop will continue to operate.

Situated on Galmisdale Point, close to both the new pier and the head of the old pier, Galmisdale Bay Café and Bar is perfectly placed for you to enjoy excellent home cooked food, served by our friendly staff, set against a backdrop of stunning scenery.

All the ingredients we use are fresh and sourced locally whenever possible. We use a local butcher who sources the majority of his meat from the highlands and a fish merchant based in Mallaig (one of Scotland’s biggest fishing ports).
